Door Systems Inc. Celebrates 55 Years by Giving Back Over $12,000 to Local Charities

Door Systems Inc., a locally owned and operated company serving the greater Lee’s Summit area for 55 years, proudly wrapped up its 7th annual February “Have a Heart” community giving campaign. Through the month-long promotion, the company donated 10% of sales to local nonprofits chosen by its customers, totaling a generous $12,053 given back to the community.

Customers who purchased residential or commercial garage doors, openers, entry doors, patio doors, or windows were invited to select one of four local charities to receive the donation. This year’s recipients included Coldwater of Lee’s Summit, Hillcrest Transitional Housing, Lee’s Summit Public Safety, and Lee’s Summit Social Services.

“We have been blessed to have been a part of Lee’s Summit for over 55 years. We have seen the city grow over that time. We have also seen the needs of those on the margins grow as well,” said Tina Walcutt, Customer Experience Specialist at Door Systems Inc. “We consider it an honor to be able to give back to the community that has given us so much. None of us can do it all, but all of us can do some to help those in need. We know many other businesses give to the community as well. We commend them for their efforts. We would encourage those who haven’t to step up and make a difference in our community.”

The impact of the campaign is felt directly by the recipient organizations.

“We were absolutely thrilled to receive support from Door Systems again this year!” said Barbara Fitzgerald, Vice President of Development at Hillcrest Transitional Housing. “Their generous contribution to Hillcrest Transitional Housing helps empower families on their journey toward self-sufficiency, and we are deeply grateful for their partnership.”
