Saint Luke’s East Hospital is currently hiring an Inpatient Pharmacy Intern.
This position will give you a lot of variety in your work each week. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will assist with filling automated dispensing cabinets and delivering medications to various units within the hospital. You will have the opportunity to perform IV Sterile Compounding, Unit Dose Packaging, Fill First Doses and assist with Medical Storage. A pharmacy intern will perform clinical student intern duties as you advance through pharmacy school. This is a customer facing position where you will support various hospital staff members and process requests. You must be currently enrolled within an accredited school of pharmacy.


Shift Details: Part-time and PRN pharmacy intern positions work up to 20 hours per week. Schedule includes working evenings during the week and every other weekend.
The Work:
•    Pick, fill and deliver medication orders and Omnicell stock to appropriate locations
•    Fill first doses for new orders for patients
•    Prepack drugs and compound medications including sterile products, chemotherapy, and special dosage forms (topicals, oral liquids, etc.)
•    Answer the phone/ front window, and assist with questions and requests
•    Complete projects as needed that improve service and/or safety
•    Complete clinical student intern duties commensurate with pharmacy school education.
We are seeking a patient focused, detail oriented, professional with a passion for healthcare. To be successful, you must enjoy working with an engaged team completing challenging work. This position will require you to work on your feet most of your shift and work autonomously. Pharmacy Intern experience is preferred, but not required.

Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Pharmacy Intern (MO) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
