2023 Oktoberfest Home Brew Registration The Lee’s Summit Chamber  is pleased to present the 2023 Oktoberfest People’s Choice Home Brew Competition held Saturday, September 23 in the Lee’s Summit Oktoberfest Biergarten. 

Registered participants will serve up samples of their best brews at a tasting event from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 in the Biergarten, located at Green and 3rd Streets in downtown Lee’s Summit. 

There will be a  total of 5 winners being recognized: 

• Best Brewer - People’s Choice (1st, 2nd and 3rd place)
• Brewer’s Choice 
• Best Showmanship

Attendees who purchase a tasting glass will gain admittance to the event and cast their vote for the top brewers. A small panel of judges will determine a showmanship winner, and our brewers will be asked to vote amongst themselves to determine the Brewer's Choice winner. Brewer's Choice will be awarded with a traveling trophy, and some major bragging rights! 

Brewer Requirements: 

• Must supply a minimum 5-gallon keg (or bottle equivalent) for the tasting 
• Beer must fit in allotted space- no limit to number of beers 
• Must keep pours to sample-size; full servings will not be permitted 
• Beer produced/made at a commercial facility is prohibited 
• Sales & advertising prohibited; however, signage promoting your home brewery (not your business) is allowed 
• Must have means to keep beer chilled. Ice will be provided 
• Must have at least 1 person (limit 2) to serve your beer throughout the 3-hour tasting event 
• No outside food & drink (other than the beer being supplied for contest) allowed 
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older at time of event 

Set-up: 

• Brewers may check-in starting at 9:00 a.m. Saturday morning. 
• Each brewer will have up to 6 feet of space to display their home brew(s). 
• Tables will be provided.

This is not a sanctioned competition. The required beer product submission serves as the entry fee to the contest. Spaces are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis and limited to the first 35 applicants. Event takes place rain or shine under a large tent.
