Did you know that there is a parade held every year at Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany? It was originally held in 1810 to honor the marriage of Prince Ludwig and Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen.
Our parade is a nod to the original and will consist of hand-pulled wagons that we'll walk through the heart of the event on Saturday, September 27th at 10am.
Get your Wagon Team together and join us for a short walk down 3rd and Douglas Streets through the heart of the festival. As you make your way down the parade route, you and your team may hand out candy to the eager crowd. A pair of emcees will be on hand to entertain the crowd and introduce each float as they approach the intersection of Douglas and 3rd. We ask that each team provide a script for the emcees.
This is your chance to shine by showing off your wagon float and promoting your organization to the community. This year we celebrate the joy of music with our theme "Music Makes The World Go Round!" Participating businesses and organizations are encouraged to decorate your wagon to match your favorite music genre—whether it’s rock, country, jazz, pop, or anything else that moves you. As you roll down the parade route, play music from your chosen genre to bring your theme to life and share the rhythm with everyone around you! This event is all about having fun and celebrating the season. We look forward to seeing you there! Small prizes and major bragging rights will be awarded to the top wagons!
No politically affiliated organizations, or public interest groups will be considered. No motorized wagons or vehicles allowed.
Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m.
