Did you know that there is a parade held every year at Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany? It was originally held in 1810 to honor the marriage of Prince Ludwig and Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen.
Our parade is a nod to the original and will consist of hand-pulled wagons that we'll walk through the heart of the event on Saturday, September 23rd at 10am.
Get your Wagon Team together and join us for a short walk down 3rd Street through the heart of the festival. As you make your way down the parade route, you and your team may hand out candy to the eager crowd. A pair of emcees will be on hand to entertain the crowd and introduce each float as they approach the intersection of Douglas and 3rd.
We ask that each team provide a script for the emcees. This is your chance to shine by showing off your wagon float and promoting your organization to the community. This year's theme for the Wagon Parade is "Follow the Lederhosen"! Participating businesses and organizations are encouraged to design their float with that theme in mind. This event is all about having fun and celebrating the season. We look forward to seeing you there!
No politically affiliated organizations, or public interest groups will be considered. No motorized wagons or vehicles allowed.
